The cut card is the real house edge
Live dealer games streamed into the UK aren’t dealt from the same shoes as their land-based counterparts. Operators like Evolution and Playtech use continuous shuffling machines (CSMs) on a majority of their blackjack tables, or they cut the shoe aggressively—often at 50–60 cards into a six-deck shoe.
